Restaurant of the Republic
Men and women, youngsters and the elderly, locals and foreigners all sat together at the table at Karpiç. Socializing around contemporary values was the basic rule of this table. Karpiç was not just a restaurant but a school of etiquette and good manners as well. Many rules organizing the daily relationships of the New Life were learned here. It became both an urban legend of Ankara and the modern spirit of Turkey.
