On Thursday 24 May Chamber Talks moderator Haydar Ergülen discussed the poetry of İstanbul
The program included examples of outstanding poems written on İstanbul and its various districts during the Republican era, and questioned why fewer poems are being written on the city in recent years. Changing and unchanging themes, as well as clichés found in poetry written for İstanbul were explored. The program offered an evening of selected İstanbul poems from renowned poets, ranging from Nazım Hikmet to Asaf Halet Çelebi; from Edip Cansever to küçük İskender.
